Small group fellowship events. Large group teaching experiences. Life-changing service activities. Faith coming alive. This isn't your parents' "confirmation."
Redeemer places great emphasis on teaching the faith to its children, both in content (this is what we believe) and in context (this is how what we believe makes a difference in our life). In confirmation classes, the Christian faith is taught in an interactive, relational, hands-on manner. Parents, pastors, small group leaders, and students come together to share how living with Jesus Christ truly makes life more fulfilling, even at this young age.
In their own words: Three confirmation students share these thoughts:
--I have learned that being a Christian doesnt just mean wearing a cross around your neck and saying that you love God, but it also means that you truly love God and that you truly believe in Him.
--Confirmation is about becoming a part of a big family, and learning this familys values and beliefs. I have learned that we are not saved by words, but by grace, and I can see this every Sunday in church. These people are so dedicated to what they believe in, and I want to be just like them.
--Throughout my three years of confirmation, I have learned many things, both about my faith, and about myself. One things that I have discovered is that I am extremely passionate about my beliefs, and have a strong desire to share them with others. I want everyone to experience the joy that knowing the Lord brings.
